From children’s play to adult games
Many adult games such as lottery, casino games, war games, video games, retain a childish flavor despite their potential deadliness. But there is one deadly adult game that is probably forefront in the present ‘gamification’ of the world: the power game. This game, whose winners are unwillingly envied/hated by competitors for economic power – as much as they are unwillingly admired/despised by the crowd for their public visibility – has become a global threat.
A first step “out of darkness towards daybreak” might be to find out how the game started in the first place, and the mechanism that induces its most deadly consequences. At a time when the prevalent psychosocial disease is becoming pandemic [37], one of these consequences is that most future parents can’t enjoy enough freedom – more precisely: enough scholé – during their upcoming child’s primal period. Even worse: if still engaged in a fight for power during this period, they contribute to the epigenetic transmission of the deadly game to their offspring’s generation [38; 39].
